Growing Tips
The very first step would be to document yourself on:
- The natural habitat of orchids.
- The climatic conditions of your proposed growing area.
- Select orchid species/hybrids that would thrive in your conditions.
The next step would be to
- Accommodate your growing space with adequate shading, ventilation.
- Choose your plants; not too young; preferably at near flowering size.
- Bare root plants should be potted in a suitable medium which will maintain a good level of humidity around the roots.
Once the plants have settled in their pots:
- Water regularly as appropriate.
- Apply fertilizer according to the stage of growth.
- Inspect plants regularly to detect pests/disease occurrence and treat accordingly.
